Yes, you can wear white

In the musty old days of strict fashion rules, white was a post-Labor-Day no-no. But then again, black was once proper only for mourning, and denim was for gold miners. The point is, times have changed. While a white button-down Oxford dress shirt has always been exemplary (nowadays, dress it up with a blazer or down with jeans, go prep or go skater), 2018 offers at least four other ways white is just right:

A bomber

When temperatures dip during those early fall days, a white bomber is the perfect thing to ward off the chill. And as the weather gets colder, it’ll work great as a layering piece.

A pair of sneakers

Nothing makes an outfit pop like this minimalist favorite—white sneakers have become a year-round go-to.

A waffle-knit Henley

It’s cool (figuratively), warm (literally) and classic. Bring this lightweight, long-sleeve version right into fall and keep it as a foundation piece for winter layering.

A camp-collar shirt

If you’re already stocked up on Oxford shirts, a camp-collar short-sleeve version is a fresh take on the idea. You may think of this as a warm-weather item, but these shirts look great styled over a long-sleeved shirt or under a blazer. Give a try.
